Kaduna Speaker urges wealthy Muslims to support Islamic institutions …As Daru Sigaril Huffaz graduates 23 students

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria –  The Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Yusuf Liman, has called on wealthy muslims in the society to give priority to supporting Islamic institutions to help uplift Islam.

He made the call at the 3rd Edition Qur’anic memorization graduation ceremony of the Daru Sigaril Huffaz Islamic School in Kaduna on Sunday, May 5.

The Speaker expressed satisfaction with the contributions of the school to imparting Islamic education in the society.

Also speaking, the Member representing Basawa Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Jamilu Albani, said the Holy Qur’an is a guide and a straight path to paradise which must be embraced by all Muslims.

He announced that the State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has fulfilled his promise of Hajj seats to winners of the recent Qur’anic Recitation Competition held in the state.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the ceremony, Proprietor of the school, Abdurrahman Zakariyya said lots of pupils have memorized the glorious Qur’an since the establishment of the school.
 
Going back memory lane, Zakariyya who is also the Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to the Kaduna State Governor on Religious Matters, noted that the school has achieved quite a lot in the last 7 years.
“Initially, the school started with seven pupils in my parlour. It then expanded to record 300 students with over 60 orphans. With this rapid expansion, I believe we are going to have more students to benefit from this knowledge, once the issue of permanent site is sorted out.
“I thank Allah that the Kaduna State Government has promised to give the school a permanent site and even build the school,” he said.

He also thanked Governor Uba Sani for sponsoring the education of some orphans in the school. “As you may know most of our activities are channeled to orphans which is one of the mandates of the school to ensure they have quality Qur’anic and Western education,” Zakariyya added

Speaking to this Reporter on the sideline, one of the parents, Hajiya Aishat Ahmad, expressed satisfaction to have enrolled her child in Daru Sigaril Huffaz Islamic school.
According to her, the school has met her expectation because it has been her desire to have her son memorized the Qur’an, and the school has help her achieved that.
Another parent, Shehu Ibrahim, a civil servant with the Kaduna State Government whose child is also a student in the school said so far he is satisfied with the conducts of the students, and he would recommend the school to other parents.
“I can recommend this school to any parents. The students’ attitudes, the discipline and learning atmosphere. I believe the learning environment will gradually get to what the parents expect once the school secure a permanent site,” he noted.
A graduand, Hauwa’u Bashir Umar, said she was excited to be among the graduating students. She thanked her parents for sending her to the school and prayed that Allah will bless and give them long life.
