KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The President-General of the Tsaunin Kura GRA Residents Association (Sabo GRA), Comrade Dr Silas Adamu, has commissioned a newly constructed culvert, with a charge on zones in the community to embrace self-help in improving infrastucture in the area.
He stated this on Friday during the commissioning of the culvert constructed by Zone A in the community.
“I must commend the efforts of the Zone A leadership in bringing to fruition this laudable project that will end the perennial flooding experienced by residents of the affected area.
“This is a good self-help project and such moves will further encourage the government to look into the plight of our community, especially the quest for roads and drainages,” he said.
Speaking further, Comrade Adamu said the project was being commissioned on a special day that depicts sacrifice and God’s love for mankind, hence it was a good way to start the Christmas celebration.
Earlier, President of the Sabo GRA Zone A, Dr. Sunday Barnabas, said the project was conceived earlier in the year.
“We had to tax ourselves to buy the 21 rings, rods, stones, sand, cement and other materials used in the culvert and adjoining drainage.
“The drainage which was constructed in front of the house of a widow, was funded by an individual who craves anonymity.
“The projects consumed almost half a million Naira,” he disclosed.
The ceremony was witnessed by a  restricted gathering of about 10 persons, in line with the COVID-19 protocols.
