Kaduna Police Command Nabs One Kidnapper, 3 Armed Robbers

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – Kaduna State Police Command has arrested one notorious kidnapper, Ali Abu of Dutse-Wia in Kubau Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), ASP Aliyu Mukhtar disclosed this while speaking to the media in Kaduna on Thursday, June 7, 2018..

According to him, on June 5, 2018 at about 5:30am, the Command received a credible information about the suspect and later arrested him.

He added that upon investigation, the suspect confessed to have been involved in series of kidnappings, cattle rustling and armed robbery along the Kaduna – Abuja axis; Kaduna – Jere axis and the Kaduna – Birnin Gwari axis.

ASP Mukhtar disclosed that efforts are on top gear to arrest other members of the gang.

Similarly, one Nnamdi Nwafor (32 years) was arrested along Zaria – Kaduna road during a stop and search operation. A black Mercedes Benz 190 was recovered from the suspect and upon investigation the vehicle was discovered to have been stolen from the premises of Saint John’s Catholic Church, Ahmadu Bello Way, Sokoto. And the owner of the vehicle was identified to be one Charles of No.78 Emir Yahaya road, Sokoto.

“The suspect hid the vehicle in Gusau in Zamfara state before finally driving it down to Kaduna on June 4, 2018, but a report has already sent to the Command of the stolen vehicle. So the police operatives from Zaria Area Command stopped the vehicle and the suspect was apprehended.

“After interrogation the suspect confessed that he was on his way to Kaduna to dispose the vehicle to one Tom, a painter in Panteka Market. He also indicted one Habibu (alias Hakuna Matata) of Federal Low Cost Sokoto as his accomplice.

“Our operatives also arrested the duo of Desmond Omali (27 years) of Sector “F” Federal Housing Estate, Abuja and one Adejo Ojima (25 years) of New Kwaru, Nassarawa State of robbery.

“They confessed to have robbed a vehicle belonging to International Brewery, Onitsha, Anambra state. They also confessed to have previously robbed two vehicles at different occasions.

“He explained that the gang normally snatched brand new vehicles as their receivers do not accept used vehicles. They disclosed their meeting point to be a restaurant along Kwagila in Zaria. They indicted one Daddy and Olumide whose real names and address are not yet known. They mentioned one Kingsley Eze (a.ka. Oga) of Kankara in Katsina state as their main receiver. Efforts are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects,” he said.
