KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The Christian Association of Nigeria, 19 Northern States and Federal Capital Territory (Youth Wing), has adviced its immediate past leader, Daniel Kadzai to tow the path of honour and cooperate with the newly elected and rebranded YOWICAN under the leadership of Apostle Andy Nyeneime to which they are all loyal to and supportive of.
This is stated in a press statement signed by Musa Misal and Sarafa Oyewo, Chairman and Secretary respectively, and made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
YOWICAN had refuted the allegation by Kadzai that the recent election held to usher in new executive is illegal, null and void; saying the election passed through all laid down rules and regulations of the association.
According to the statement the election was supervised by the highest decision making body of CAN (The National Executive Committee) and witnessed by some key principal officers, so it can never in anyway be said to be nothing but legal and authentic.
The statement added that all the 5 blocs of CAN including HEKAN/ECWA to which Kadzai belonged to provided statutory delegates and even contestants.
“All the States and Zones were duly and fully in attendance by the statutory delegates.
“Kadzai in his usual characteristics of mischief and dubiousness, failed to acknowledge the true fact that this organization is a faith-based organization which should be purely guided by the Christian doctrine.
“We will no longer admit such an attitude of his such that he started his tenure with the court and ended same with court. In fact, this is nothing to write home about as a true believer, how much more a leader of a faith-based body.
“We therefore advice Kadzai to tow the path of honour and cooperate with the newly elected and rebranded YOWICAN under the leadership of Apostle Andy Nyeneime to which we are all loyal to and supportive of.
“We in the 19 Northern States wish to state without any iota of doubt that the election on Saturday, 27th January, 2018, is not only free, fair and credible but also reflects our collective wishes.
“We call on our brothers from the South-East, South-South and South-West to raise their voices in unison to condemn this unwarranted and provocative display of greed and power drunkenness by Daniel Kadzai and his sponsors.”
