NUJ Kaduna Resolve Crisis As Former Chair, 2 Others Pardon

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Kaduna State Council has threaded the part of peace by pardoning its former impeached chairman, Comrade Garba Mohammed and two others.
This is contained in a communique issued after an emergency congress of the Union, signed by the Council Secretary, Dauda Doka
held in Kaduna on Thursday, May 24, 2018.
The impeachment of the former chairman, Garba Mohammed on alleged constitutional breach was converted to resignation following his letter of resignation dated May 23, 2018.
After deliberations on the foregoing and haven submitted his resignation letter and accepted by the congress as contained in the terms of reference, the congress passed a resolution of substituting Garba Muhammed impeachment with a resignation.
The congress agreed that for peace to reign in the union, members have agreed to apply wisdom and the heart of forgiveness for the council to move forward.
It is against this background that the congress overwhelmingly resolved to readmit the claimant, Mallam Garba Mohammed and other two suspended members Balarabe Zaria and Abubakar Abba back to the union.
