Kaduna NUJ Mourns Imam Imam

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Kaduna State Council, has described the death of Imam Imam, Media Spokesman of Sokoto State governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal as a colossal loss to the NUJ family.

Even as it stated that Imam’s demise is a great loss to the nation’s media industry in general as well as the Sokoto State Government considering his antecedents and potency in the discharge of his official responsibilities.

This is contained in a statement signed by the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Adamu Yusuf and made available to the media in Kaduna on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

The Chairman who described late Imam as a humble personality who was calm, matured, knowledgeable, generous, compassionate and a successful journalist said during his heydays strictly adhered to the ethics and code of conduct of journalism.

Comrade Yusuf said Imam’s demise was a rude shock to the entire media family in Nigeria, especially the NUJ Kaduna State Council where he first cut his tail in Journalism practice, adding that his contributions to the development of the profession will not be forgotten in a hurry.

He said the deceased was not only respected amongst his peers, but had carved a niche for himself as one of the most brilliant and successful image and information managers in the country.

Comrade Yusuf said that late Imam Imam will also be remembered for his exploits and prompt dissemination of information about the policies and programmess of his principal and Sokoto State government.

“We deeply mourn one of our best today, Alhaji Imam Imam who died in Abuja Hospital after a brief illness. I lack words to describe how journalists in Kaduna feel today. The news of his demise came as a rude shock to us. I pray that Allah will him grant Aljanna Firdausi.

“On behalf of the Kaduna State Council we condole the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, the Government and the immediate family of the deceased to bear the irreparable loss,” he said.

Late Malam Imam Imam died at an Abuja hospital after a brief illness. He was until his death, the Special Adviser, Media and  Publicity to  Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state in North-West, Nigeria.
