KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has passed a vote of confidence on Management of the Federal Cooperative College Kaduna (FCC) led by Mr. Bala Gimba; saying it is the quest of NANS that such man and his team be encouraged and motivated to do more.

Assistant Secretary General of NANS, Comrade Oyeniyi Abdulmajeed, disclosed in a press conference held at the College in Kaduna on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

Speaking on the information making the rounds on the social media by what he termed as “blackmailers “, NANS requested the management of the institution to remain focus and not be distracted.

Comrade Abdulmajeed, said the Committee on fact finding mission inaugurated by the Senate President of NANS after vigorous inspection and interview of resident students of FCC, commended the Provost of the College, Mr. Bala Gimba and his management team for a job well done especially the developmental strides in the college.

“Our quest to the Federal Government of Nigeria is that such man and his management team should ne encouraged and motivated to do more.

“On this note on behalf of 43.1 million Nigerian students hereby pass a vote of confidence on Mr. Bala Gimba and his entire management team.
“We want to use this medium to express our profound gratitude and also to give kudos to the Provost and his entire management team for a work well done and especially the development in the infrastructure that we found suited to UNESCO standard.

“We are calling on the Inspector General of Police and other related security agencies to intervene and track down on the carrier of such information,” he said.

Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the press conference, President of the Senate, National Association of Polytechnic Students, KadPoly Chapter, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi, said he received a call from ASG to come down to FCC on a fact finding mission on allegations level against the Management of the college.

According to him, when the Committee arrived the college, the team discovered that the reverse is the case.

“The NANS team further discovered that the said monies allocated to FCC by the FG for development of capital projects by Management of the college was being judiciously utilized.
“The last time I visited this college about 2 years ago, I can recall vividly that it has no security in terms of fencing, no good learning environment, no hostel, no guest house among others.

“But today as we speak everything is in place. There is good hostel, conducive environment for learning, good theatres and even good guest house. And I think to this effect we pass a vote of confidence on Management of this College,” he stated.

It will be recalled that the social media was recently awashed with allegations of nepotism and misappropriation of funds meant for capital projects to the tune of N1.1billion leveled against management of FCC Kaduna.
