YOLA, North-East, Nigeria – A renowned philanthropist, Mallam Hamisu Medugu, has donated five high-performance laptops and four desktops to the Federal University of Agriculture Mubi (FUAMB).
The laptops were formally handed over to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Tarfa Bitrus Dawi, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 who received the donation on behalf of the institution.
The VC expressed gratitude to Mallam Medugu for his generosity, stating that the laptops would greatly enhanced the university’s teaching, research, and learning capabilities.
“We are deeply thankful to Mallam Hamisu Idris Medugu for this kind gesture. These laptops will significantly support our students and faculty in their academic pursuits, and we appreciate his commitment to education,” he said.
Prof. Dawi said Mallam Medugu’s donation is seen as a timely intervention, as it will boost the university’s digital infrastructure and provide students with access to modern technology; and assured that the items would be utilized effectively to benefit students and faculty across various disciplines.
The VC who was elated said the donations were first of its kind to the university and will also enhanced both academic and administrative stance of the institution in great measures.
He said Medugu’s philanthropic gesture demonstrated his dedication to supporting education and empowering the future.
Dawi also thanked Professor Paul Amaza for the donations of 10 copies of his book: “Fundamental of Agricultural Economics” to the University for his contribution to knowledge through the books.
The Registrar of FUAMB also witnessed the presentations to the VC and happily appreciated Idris and Prof Paul for their kind gesture of donation to the University.
