Kanwa United FC lifts maiden Sarkin Fulanin Joben Cup

KATSINA, North-West Nigeria – The Kanwa United FC of Ketare has won the maiden edition of the Sarkin Fulanin Joben Cup.

In the decisive match, the Kanwa United FC defeated Kankara Pillars by a lone goal to clinched the coveted cup.

Kanwa United’s journey to victory began with a hard-fought 1-0 win over AC Milan Kankara in the first round, followed by another 1-0 triumph against FC London Kankara, securing it place in the final.

The trophy was donated by the Deputy Governor of Katsina state, Malam Faruq Lawal Jobe, an indigene of Kankara Local Govt Area (LGA), to be competed for among football clubs in the area to enhanced youth participation in sporting activities.

The Deputy Governor was represented at the event by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Kasimu Dan Tsoho, who presented the cup to the victorious Kanwa United FC.

In a congratulatory message, the Kanwan Katsina, District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, who is the proprietor of the club praised the team for its outstanding performance and encouraged it to maintain the momentum.

He also commended the team’s coach, Hassan Isa Ketare, for his dedication to guiding the team to success and urged him to sustain the efforts to ensure future victories.

The Kanwa United FC was established by Alhaji Usman Kankara to engage the young people of the District in sporting activities, and also help promote physical fitness and discourage social vices among them.
