Allege male organ disappearance: Police warn Kogi citizens against jungle justice

LOKOJA, North-Central, Nigeria – Kogi State Police Command has warned residents of Lokoja and its environs to desist from peddling fake information on the disappearances of male organs.

Spokesman of the state Police Command, SP William Aya, quoted the Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, in a statement on Wednesday, saying that the rumour currently trending in Lokoja was untrue.

He stated that, some of the allegations over male organ disappearance have been investigated by the Police and Medics but all turned out be false.

“The false information is the sole aim of inciting public disturbance, creating fear and disrupting the peaceful environment the state is currently enjoying.

“The Police is planning sterner measures to curtain false report in the State.

“Anyone caught giving false information will be prosecuted according to the law,” the statement read.

The Police sternly warned members of the public to desist from taking law into their hands by carrying out jungle justice. “The Command has deployed its Security assets to detect individuals behind peddling rumour that has so far led to the attacks on innocent citizens.

“Therefore anybody caught taking law into his hand will be prosecuted according to the law.

“To this end, the Commissioner of Police enjoins the good people of Kogi State to remain security conscious and report anything that looks suspicious in their areas to the Police,” the statement further stated.
