KADUNA, North-West Nigeria – Kaduna state Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Sani, has said he will leave no stone unturned towards dislodging all criminal elements in their hideouts across the 23 Local Government Areas in the state.
“I am in Kaduna state to make the lives of criminal elements uncomfortable who are also making life unbearable to the citizens of the state,” he assured.
Speaking in Kaduna on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at an emergency security meeting with all Pastors and Priests in the state, hosted by the leadership of the state Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN); CP Sani, called on the support of religious leaders with useful information towards curbing insecurity in the state.
According to him, “Insecurity has become a global issue but the State Police Command will go all out in every hidden place where the criminals are operating to make life uncomfortable for them.”
He called on the general public to cooperate with the police personnel by giving them useful information that would enable them apprehend people with questionable characters by creating a conducive atmosphere for the people.
“I am in Kaduna state to do my best with officers and men of the Nigeria Police to ensure that citizens of Kaduna state go to bed with their two eyes close. It is only in an atmosphere of peace that people will go out to carry their legitimate duties in order to put food on their table.
“The essence of my visit is to strengthen relationship between the police religious leaders. I have visited Mosques and now the Church, and you all have witness my interactions with Clergymen; and this is what we call community policing.

“I told the religious leaders that the primary duties of the Police is to protect lives and property, of which I urged them to give the Police useful information without which the Police can never achieve its duties,” he explained.
He enjoined the Clergymen to pass the information to their congregants, saying, “We need each other to be able to do the needful and work as a team to also defeat the few bad eggs that are making things very hard for the innocent ones that are in majority in the society.
He assured that the state police Command is committed to protection of lives and property of citizens irrespective of tribe or religion, saying “I can’t comprehend how a person will wake up, carry arms and go kill a fellow human being. I’m talking from the bottom of my heart.”
CP Sani assured that he was working on modalities of bringing together Christian and Muslim leaders together to share ideas with a view to giving the best way insecurity could be tackled in the state.
He also promised to make life unbearable with anybody found selling drugs, adding that anybody found aiding and abating people with questionable characters will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
Earlier, Kaduna state chairman of CAN, Reverend John Joseph Hayab, said the people want to be part of ensuring peace in the state, lamenting that in the past, they were not given such privileges to tell those in authority their grievances.
He assured that such engagements with those in authority would go a long way towards providing a good platform for people to air their views with what they are passing through and the best way to amicably resolve areas of concern.
