Woman stabs, rob of N650,000 iPhone

LAGOS- South-West Nigeria – Two people who stabbed and robbed a woman of her iPhone worth N650,000 were remanded by an Ikeja Magistrate Court on Wednesday.

The two men –  23-year-old bus conductor, Segun Animashaun, lives at Oba Ogunji Road, Agege, Lagos State, while the plumber, Warees Balogun, 22, resides at 23, Osho Agoro St., Ajiyan Gasline, Ogun State.

They are charged with conspiracy, stealing and causing grievous harm of which they pleaded guilty to the three-count charge.

The Magistrate, Mr F. O Ameen, ordered that the defendants be kept at the Kirikiri Custodial Facility until June 26 when the Court would review the facts of the case and sentence them.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Glory Godday, told the Court that the defendants committed the offences on May 10, on Fagba Road, Agege; adding that the defendants attacked the complainant, Miss Benita David, on her way from work.

Inspector Goddy further said  when the complainant was dragging her iPhone with them, the defendants stabbed her in the face, and fortunately, the complainant’s cry for help alerted passers-by who came to her rescue and went after the defendants.

The alleged offences contravene Sections 56, 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
