KATSINA, North-West, Nigeria –  Katsina State Police Command has paraded a teenager, Yasir Abubakar, (18) of Charanchi Local Government Area for defiling a toddler.

Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), SP Gambo Isa, said the suspect took the victim who was kept in his care by the mother, into a room in their own house, being neighbours, and defiled her.

“On 09/03/2023 at about 1100hrs, the command succeeded in arresting one Yasir Abubakar ‘M’ aged 18yrs of Sabon Layi Quarters, Charanchi LGA, suspected to have raped a 15 months old girl.

“Nemesis caught up with the suspect when he took the fifteen months old girl that was kept in his care by the mother of the baby, but instead took the baby into a room in their own house, being neighbors, and raped her.

“The victim was seriously injured and admitted at General Hospital, Katsina. Suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing,” Isa said.
