Kagara agog as Emir of Katsina turbans Na Babba Ahmed

KATSINA, North-West, Nigeria – It was a celebration galore at Kagara community in Daneji District, Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State as the Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness, Dr Abdulmumini Kabir, turbaned Na Babba Salisu Ahmed as their village head, Wednesday in his palace in Katsina.
The emir called on the new village head to discharge his duties with fairness, equity and fear of the Almighty Allah. He advised the village head to ensure peace and harmony and report any issues he finds difficult to handle to the District Head.
Kagara is an ancient settlement spanning about 600 years. It was and is a settlement for Islamic scholarship and agricultural activities due to arable land and energetic population in the area.
After the turbaning, a lavish ceremony was held by the community in Kagara where hundreds of relations and well wishers gathered, rejoiced and celebrated the event and paid homage to the newly turbaned village head at his palace.
The event was witnessed by the Danejin Katsina, the District Head of Mahuta, Alhaji Bello Abdulkadir Yammama, who re-echoed the message of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Katsina that he should lead in justice, fairness and equity.
A traditional title holder in the Daneji District, the ‘Sarkin Yakin Danejin Katsina’ Alhaji Bello Kagara, expressed his gratitude to Allah for witnessing the epoch making event. He also showed appreciation to the community and its well wishers for their support towards achieving the feat.
Alh Kagara urged the community to continue living in peace with one another and work hard towards endeavours that will improve their lives.
In his remarks, the new village head, Alhaji Na Babba Ahmed, was full of gratitude to Allah for granting him the opportunity to mount his father’s throne, promising to do his best to improve the lives of the members of the community.
Alhaji Ahmed thanked the Emir of Katsina, Dr Abdulmumini Kabir; and the Danejin Katsina, Alh Bello Abdulkadir for considering him worthy for the appointment to lead his community, promising to uphold the institution in high regards.
Highlight of the event include; display of the horse parades in their regalia, traditional royal drumming and flutings while the gatherings clapped, sang and danced to it.
