JAP, WHO Congratulate The Muslim Ummah For Year 1440 AH

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – A group, Journalists’ Initiative on Immunization Against Polio, (JAP) in collaboration with the World Health Organization, (WHO) congratulates the Muslim Ummah on the Hijrah Calendar for the year 1440 AH.

JAP in a statement signed by it Coordinator, Kaduna State chapter, Lawal Dogara, congratulate the Sultan of Sokoto, President of Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Nigeria and other Muslim Leaders and pray to Allah (SAW) for peace, unity and good health among others.

The statement urged Muslim leaders and traditional rulers to always educate their followers on the importance of immunization including Routine Immunization and the Polio Vaccination Campaigns.

“We appealed to the Muslim leaders to always report the outbreak of any disease like vomiting and diarrhea, measles etc to the nearest Government Hospital/Primary Healthcare Centres with a view to achieving good health.

“We also appealed to the Ward Heads to enumerate all eligible children within their domains and reconcile the line list with the nearest health facility register to ensure such eligible children are fully vaccinated against tuberculosis, hepatitis, polio, measles, yellow fever, pertussis, tetanus and so on,” the statement reads.
