KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Kaduna, Pastor Yohanna Buru, has said he is embarking on visitations to top Muslim scholars during the Ramadan to strengthen Christian-Muslim relationships in the country.
He also hinted that 50 other Pastors have volunteered to join him in the visitation which would last for 10 days across the Northern region.
He made the disclosure in Kaduna at the weekend, adding that this became imperative as the 2022 Lenten season and the holy month of Ramadan run simultaneously.
According to him, this will boost the bond of friendship and better understanding among adherence of the two religions.
Pastor Buru called on faithful of both religions to intensify prayers and fasting for Almighty God to bring an end to the security challenges bedevilling the nation.
“As you can see the holy month has joined us now together, everyone is either observing Lent or Ramadan. While the Muslims are observing their 30 days fasting, the Christians are rounding up the 40 days Lenten period,” he said.
Responding, a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, applaud Pastor Buru for the visit; while his counterpart, Sheikh Salihu MaiBarota, expressed satisfaction over the kind gesture.
