KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The group, Journalists Initiative on Immunization Against Polio, (JAP), has urged parents and caregivers to ensure they avail their children for vaccination as Kaduna State commences another round of polio immunization campaign.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the State Coordinator of JAP, Lawal Dogara, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday.
The statement stated that the exercise is scheduled to begin from 10th – 13th January, 2022 and would be conducted through House-to-House visits, on the streets and markets, motor parks among others.
JAP advised that vaccination would enable the children grow healthier, and as such parents, should try and ensure they allow the vaccinators to attend to their wards.
The statement explained that all adequate arrangement had been made for the smooth conduct of the exercise by the State Government, Development partners and other stakeholders.
The statement commended the Traditional rulers and Religious leaders for their effort and urged them to put in more efforts for the success of the exercise.
The statement equally commended the World Health Organization, (WHO), State Primary Health Care and other stakeholders for working as a team with JAP with a view to educating parents and the general public on the importance of immunization.
The statement then appealed to the ad-hoc staff engaged for the conduct of Polio immunization to ensure all eligible children are reached for the progress of the exercise.
