MAIDUGURI, North-East, Nigeria – Borno State Government has taken delivery of 18 heavy duty road construction machines worth N1.4 billion to boost capacity of resident engineers undertaking series of infrastructural works in the state.
Governor Zulum, while on a tour on Monday to the asphalt factory located along Maiduguri-Bama road to inspect the newly acquired equipment
directed their immediate deployment to accelerate ongoing construction works at different locations across the state.
The equipment includes; four excavators, two pilling machines, eight driving rollers and graders and two bulldozers.
The Governor charged the state’s Ministry of Works to ensure proper maintenance the equipment.
Commissioner for works, Arch. Yerima Saleh, who received the governor at the asphalt said the newly acquired machines would significantly enhance capacity of engineers both at the ministry and at the state Road Maintenance Agency to deliver ongoing projects on time without compromising quality; noting that the equipment are suitable for high level infrastructure.
