KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The  Nigerian singer and Stage artist, Kate Williams who started as a gospel singer in 2007, and later reinvent into secular music thought she will be content being a backup singer, but as her popularity spread in the Crocodile City of Kaduna, the spirit that guided her backup had other plans for her.
Soon, she was taken up broader, more consequential ideas stage artist at the popular Command Guests House.
“Music is a spiritual thing,” she said in an interview with Journalists recently,  the musician also known as Kate Runtown was Born and brought up in the Garden City of Port Harcourt, but helds from Eket in Akwa Ibom State, South-South, Nigeria.
“I started as a gospel singer in 2007, and later reinvent myself into secular music as a performing musician. So, I do stage performances.
“I have worked with Baba 2010 in Abuja, in Transcorp, and Hilton hotels. I have also collaborated with other groups to do music.
“At the moment, I am the performing artist in Command Guest House, situated along Muhammadu Buhari Way in Kaduna.
“I have recorded a 10 track album. Some of the tracks include; Obianuju, Shakarah, Updown to mention but a few. The track, Updown is on the bloggers now.  I intend to launch my album in April this year,” she said.
According to Kate Runtown, “music ideas just comes, like someone is standing there and telling her what to say. It’s all according to the spirit. Some of us are put on this earth to do what we do.”
Success has brought her, “a very huge responsibility that she didn’t think she would have,” Kate admitted.
For her new album, she said, “basically continuing the mission I started, which is building a bridge that leads every music lovers in Kaduna to come together, and to make them understand that music is the food of the spirit.”
Kate Runtown said her fans should expect more goodies from her, saying, “the music industry today is not easy since there are competing big names in the industry.”
She however promised her fans that she will try to meet up the standard in the music industry.
She advised upcoming artists not to give up hope, but keep hope alive as there is success in the entertainment industry.
