Community Commends Senator Sani For Provision Of Healthcare Facility In Area

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The senator representing Kaduna Central in the Upper Chamber, Shehu Sani, has been commended by the Ungwar Jatau community in Igabi Local Government Area, for providing it with a Primary Healthcare facility to fight maternal mortality rate in the area.
Speaking to a team of Journalists who visited the area, the District Head of Anguwar Jatau, Mr Musa Gadani, said it is a great day in the history of the community because years ago before the kind gesture of Senator Sani, pregnant women had miscarriages due to the bad nature of the road.
According to him, because of the long distance between the village to town where the nearest health facility could be accessed, many residents resulted to seek help traditional way while very few go to hospital for delivery due to challenges inherent with health problems in the village.
He however commended Senator Sani for providing not only the Anguwar Jatau community but neighouring villages with a PHC to fight maternal and infants death in the rural area.
”We do not know how to express our appreciation to Senator Shehu Sani for constructing such a huge modern PHC in the village because he has done what we never thought some one could do for us for many years.
“We must thank the Journalists who visited our community some years back where they showcase the critical challenges of health problems plaguing our community.
“The media raised the awareness of our existence in these villages, and indeed this is part of their contribution which attracted the senator to construct the PHC for us and today we have seen changes,” he enthused.
Similarly, the women leader of Anguwar Jatau community, Mrs Christiana Zachariah, commended Senator Sani for his kind gesture to save humanity.
She said prior to the provision of PHC by the amiable senator, many women in the village have suffered badly, adding that most of them usually spend 2 to 3 hours on the road, due to the terrain to accessed healthcare facility away from the community.
Anguwar Jatau community with a large population is located behind the National Teachers Institute, (NTI), about 7 kilometers ride to Rigachikun, all in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.
The community is inhabited by the Gwaji Tribe who are predominantly peasant farmers, while the women are mostly house wives who some times engage in petty trading.
Anguwar Jatau with a long history of existence, lack a Primary Healthcare Centre, (PHC) which was one of the greatest challenges confronting the community, until luck came their way through Senator Shehu Sani who according to investigation by this Reporter has provided many of such PHCs in his zone.
