MAIDUGURI, North-East, Nigeria – In an effort to strengthen the health care system in Borno State, Governor Babagana Zulum, on Tuesday directed the employment of additional 40 doctors to meet up with the increasing number of patients.
The Governor held a meeting with 7 medical directors of hospitals in the MMC and Jere, centred on improving and strengthening the health care system in the state for effective, efficient and qualitative service delivery to the citizens in accordance with the policy thrust of his administration.
The meeting further looked at the issues of human resources with a view to ensuring the mandate of providing affordable health care to the citizens.
Zulum, after the meeting undertook a working tour of the Specialist hospital and directed for the construction of additional ward to decongest the existing ones.
He also inspected a land acquired by the State Government opposite the Specialist hospital for expansion.
