Zulum Distributes Food Items to 5,000 families in Jere Council

MAIDUGURI, North-East, Nigeria – Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum, on Thursday visited Gongulong Lawanti, Khaddamari, and Zabarmari communities in Jere LGA where he supervised distribution of food items to 5,000 vulnerable families.
At Gongulong Lawanti, 4,000 families where given varieties of food items, while 1,000 families in Khaddamari benefitted from the Governor’s benevolence.
Zulum had an interface with the citizens in all the communities visited, and directed the execution of three projects in the area which are: construction of Zabarmari – Maiduguri road, construction/remodeling of a Primary Healthcare Center and construction of an additional school.

He also directed completion of the Primary Health Centre in Gongulong which was started during the administration of his predecessor.
Similarly, Zulum visited troops of 195 Delta Company Battalion in Zabarmari, Khaddamari and Gongulong Lawanti to boost their morals.
Speaking during the visit, he expressed appreciation to the troops, saying he needed to visit and commend them; and donated a patrol vehicle to the military.
“We are very much aware of all the sacrifices you have been making, some of you have not seen your families for quite some time, all in an effort to safeguard the lives and properties of our people.
“We are very mindful of all that you have been doing, I am here to say a big thank you,” he said amidst the cheering soldiers.
The Borno helmsman also extended his appreciation to the Nigerian Police force, hunters, CJTF and other security operatives working alongside the Nigerian Army; and prayed for the reposed of the souls of those who paid the supreme price protecting lives and property of Borno citizens.

“I urge all of you to work together harmoniously to achieve our common objective of defeating the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents in the state. It is not easy working with the civilian populace, I am calling on you to be patient enough,” he said.
