Eid El-Kabir: Zakzaky Distributes Foodstuffs Across 13 States

KADUNA, North-Wes, Nigeria – Detained leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, has distributed foodstuffs worth millions of Naira to the less privileged for the Eid- El-Kabir celebration.
The distribution of the food items which include; bags of rice, indomie and spaghetti was carried on his behalf by his son, Mohammed Ibraheem Zakzaky.
A statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in Kaduna stated that the detained cleric instructed the distribution of the items to assist needy Nigerians during the Sallah celebrations.
The statement noted that, “It has been Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky’s practice to distribute food items to the poor and the needy and that has continued even after the Buhari-led government killed over a thousand of his supporters including his sons and hurled him and his wife into illegal detention having grievously wounded them and refused to comply with the judgment of the Federal High Court that declared their detention as a breach of their fundamental rights.”
The statement added that this time distribution was extended to the Internally Displaced Persons, (IDPs) in Katsina, Zamfara, and Christian communities in Northern Nigeria, particularly Southern Kaduna.
It also added that the Cleric sent his best wishes to Muslims all over the world and assured them of his prayers throughout the season.
Over 13 northern states; Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, Plateau, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Bauchi are among the beneficiaries of the kind gesture.
