Kaduna Residents Count Losses After  Rainstorm

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – Residents of Oriakpata, a suburb in Kaduna Metropolis are counting their losses after the heavy downpour of July 2, 2020, which destroyed their homes and business premises .
Property destroyed by the heavy downpour included an Acura ZDX Model of Honda car belonging to the Deputy National Chairman of Social Democratic Party, (SDP), Dr. Abdul Ahmed Isiaq.

According to eyewitness report, during the downpour a tree fell on the car which was parked at Oriakpata area of Katsina Road and damaged the vehicle.
When this Reporter contacted Dr. Isiaq, he confirmed that he took the car down to his mechanic for routine servicing and fixing of new tyres.
“Yes the car was taken for routine servicing and change of tyres at Gaskiya Workshop, Oriakpata down Katsina road.
“I was informed the unfortunate incident happened at about 7pm,” he said.
However, affected residents in the area have called on the State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, to come to their aid as things are very difficult for them due to the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown which has crippled their businesses and the economy.
