*Gov Masari Seriously Worried
*Security Agencies Mobilise
KATSINA, North-West, Nigeria – While the Government and citizens of Katsina State are battling with terror of banditry, cattle rustling and kidnappings over the years, political terrorism is beginning to take root in the state.
A video and audio clips now viral on the social media showed that one Dr. Isiyaku Dantuture, the Registrar of Federal College of Education, (FCE), Katsina is recruiting some youth to serve as vanguards to stage a revolution in Kafur Local Government Area of the state. Governor Aminu Bello Masari hails from Kafur LGA.
Dr Dantutture was quoted as saying; “any one who stood on his way would be cleared”. This was a veiled reference to political leaders in the area, whom he accused of not meeting the yearnings of the people in the area especially the youth.
He claimed that he used his position to secure employment for about 20 persons from the area.
During an event staged in Mahuta, the Headquarters of Daneji District, one of two districts in Kafur LG, to honour him, about 200 youth were recruited, supplied with T- shirts, caps and armed with weapons and marijuana to deal mercilessly with whoever disagreed with his standpoint in effecting the revolution.
His main targets are Governor Masari, Alhaji Bello Kagara, a Director in the Universal Basic Education Commission and the Member, Katsina State House of Assembly representing Kafur Local Government.
He was quoted saying, “he was mentored to use violence as a means to ascend to power by Senator Danjuma Goje”, former governor of Gombe State.
There are reports that the Katsina State Government, the Police, the DSS and the Federal Ministry of Education are studying the clips so that appropriate action is taken to deal with the situation.
Some unconfirmed reports say Dr Dantutture was invited, quizzed and released but was later arrested and may be charged to court.
