KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – A group under the auspices of Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin Foundation, on Thursday commenced distribution of foods to Muslims for breaking of Ramadan fast in Kaduna.
The Team started the distributions at the Kaduna Medium Security Custodial Centre, before moving to Rigasa in Igabi Local Government Area of the state to meet the needs of People Living With Disabilities, (PLWDs).
Speaking during the distribution, National Coordinator of the Foundation, Mr. Okuma Sunday, said the Founder and Senior Pastor Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, had directed that the gesture be extended especially to PLWDs due to their peculiarities to cushioned the effects of Covid-19 lockdown in the country.
According to him, the aim is to forster unity among the people and also prove that both Christians and Muslims are one.
He said although everyone in Nigeria today is vulnerable, but the Foundation chose to begin with the PLWDs because they are the most vulnerable due to their peculiarities; assuring that the group will continue with its food distribution exercise until the Covid-19 pandemic ends.
The Coordinator further said that the Foundation is targeting 600 households in the state, depending otherwise instructions from the Founder.
“Due to the lockdown in the state which has curtailed movement, the Foundation is looking at distributing raw food items subsequently to meet up with demands,” he said
The Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization instituted by the General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Ministries, Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin.
The foundation of the establishment of the NGO borders on the scriptural precept of Christ to assist one another and that “whoever did this to his neighbour did it to me.”
