Robbers Lay Siege On Kafanchan Community Kills 2, Injures 3

Sunday, May 20, 2018 stormed a community in Kafanchan in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state, killing 2 persons and injured 3 others.
The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), ASP Aliyu Murkhtar who confirmed the incident said the robbers stormed the Pasakori community at about 10pm on Sunday, and headed straight to the shop which is said to belong to one Benjamin Solomon, shooting sporadically.
The said Solomon escaped, but 2 persons within the vicinity were shot dead. According to ASP Murkhtar, the robbers forced their way into the shop, ransacked it and went away with yet to be identified sums of money and materials.
He added that when the police received a distressed call, they dashed to the scene and engaged the robbers in a shot out but the robbers escaped through the bush.
The PPRO said manhunt has been launched for the fleeing robbers while surveillance has been mounted to arrest them.
The 3 injured persons are presently receiving treatment at a Primary Healthcare Centre, (PHC) in Kafanchan, while patrol has been intensified around the area.
In a related development, ASP Murkhtar said the Command has arrested 12 members of the dreaded gangster, ‘Sara-suka’ in Kakuri, while 4 others were nabbed in Tudun-Wada all in Kaduna South Local Government Area of the state.
One of the gang members who has been on the police radar for armed robbery has been transfered to the State CID for further interrogation.
