Army Hand over 983 Cleared Boko Haram Suspects To Gov Zulum For Rehab

MAIDUGURI, North-East, Nigeria – Borno State Governor, Professor Zulum, has expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army, (NA), and other security agencies for their efforts in maintaining law and order in the state.
He stated this during a brief ceremony at the Headquarters of the 21 Armored Brigade, Maiduguri, on Wednesday when he received 983 suspected Boko Haram members who were found innocent after necessary investigations from the military.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to ending the decade-long insurgency in the state.
He assured that the State Government would support the Federal Government’s initiatives of using a non-kinetic approach to ending the insurgency. 
Earlier, the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major-General Olusegun Adeniyi, said as part of effort towards actualizing peace in the northeast, the military embarked on many strategies which include offensive, defensive and subsidiary operations.
He explained that the product of such operations have led to the arrest of confirmed and suspected Boko Haram terrorists and their sympathisers for investigations.
Adeniyi further stated that the released categories of detainees have been screened, investigated and cleared at the joint investigation centre, therefore, the military is presenting a total of 983 cleared suspects to the State Government for rehabilitation and reintegration to the communities.
