KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has said the National Youth Service Corp, (NYSC), have contributed immensely to nation building.
The Governor who said he deeply appreciate the contributions of the Corps members, noted that they have over the years added values to lives of Nigerians, and called for rural oriented posting of Corps members for primary assignments.
He stated this when he received at the Government House on Thursday, the State Coordinator of the scheme, Mallam Isa Wana, and his management team on a courtesy visit.
The Governor, who responded positively to all issues raised by the State Coordinator in his address, promised that his administration “will do its utmost best within available resources to support the NYSC scheme in the state.”
He directed the Local Government Chairmen and Traditional Rulers to provide Corps Lodges for NYSC members in the state.
Speaking earlier, the State Coordinator, Mallam Wana, said he was at the Government House with his management team to interact with the governor, appreciate him, share the modest accomplishments of the scheme as well as challenges facing it in the course of discharging its mandate in the state.
