KADUNA, North-West Nigeria – Parents of kidnapped six students and two teachers of Engravers College, Kakau Daji, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have cried out that the State Government has not made any effort for the release of their children.

They made the assertion during a press conference held in Kaduna on Monday, October 14, 2019.

Spokesperson of the group, Chukwuemeka Paul Adindu said, they had done as were being told by the kidnappers, but the kidnappers made U-turn based on the reaction of the State Government over the development in the media.

“We want to state clearly that the six students and staff kidnapped have not been released,” he said.

Adindu added that the parents also want the entire world to know that they are the only ones interfacing with the kidnappers of their children, stressing that government has not come out clear on the roles they are playing.

“We, parents of students and staff do not know who is negotiating on behalf of the government because the kidnappers are still threatening us.

“The school is a private school and not government and no government involvement in the negotiations.

“We have been under torment for the past 11 days. We want the whole world to know that we are not with the government, no one is helping us we are alone on this cause.”

He said that in spite of yielding to the demands of the abductors, they are worried that they are still holding their children and two teachers of the school captive.

“All we know is that we have tried our best as parents to gather what we can and give them. We did as told but till now, they have not been released,” he lamented.

  1. One of the weakness of Kaduna state government is in the area of security. Government is not serious about it. Everyday a person will be knap and nothing the government is doing. Kaduna state government should borrow the ideas of Zamfara and Katsina state governments in area of knapping and insecurity
