ABUJA, Nigeria – The Cordinator of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Youth Vanguard, Northwest zone, Honourable Ibrahim Ahmadu, has lambasted the Oyo state chapter of the Socialist Party of Nigeria, (SPN), for what he termed as unconstructive criticism of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, Hon. Ibrahim maintained that rather than congratulate the Governor for his doggedness in overhauling the education system the SPN is busy criticizing blindly.
“Are they saying his efforts in curbing unemployment and empowering the youth is falsehood? The SPN committee of know it all are the ones promoting falsehood,” he maintained.
On Security, Ahmadu said; “SPN should ask the immediate past governor to show records of his security votes while in office, how many governors have done that, even EFCC is not empowered to probe security vote, the Governor should remain focus and ignore elements of distraction,” he said.
Ahmadu also joined other leaders and well wishers to congratulate the Governor over his triumph and victory at the State election petition tribunal.
Governor Makinde won his opponent in a land slide victory in the March 9th gubernatorial election in Oyo State, but was taken to the tribunal by Bayo Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress, (APC).
While congratulating the governor, the Coordinator said it is joyous for the good people of Oyo for having a caring and people’s loving leader like Makinde, and urged them to stand by him throughout his stay as governor of the State, pointing out that the victory was for all Nigerians and PDP members across the world.
“Not only the Oyo people are celebrating Makinde’s stellar achievements but the entire country because the citizens are speaking good of him as I see people post on social media wishing that he was their State governor.
“He is indeed a God sent who is transforming the socio-political and economic fortune of Oyo and bringing abundant prosperity to the land.
Ahmadu commended the Judges at the Tribunal for their courage, saying; “fairness and justice must be the hallmark of our democracy, when people surrender their will to a candidate through democratic electioneering process at the ballot, nobody should use the backdoor to take it back.”
