KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – A group under the aegis of Babbar Mace Counseling Services in Kaduna has embarked on sensitization to enlighten people on good conduct during and after the up coming Local Government Council polls in the state.
President of the organization, Hajiya Khadija Sa’ad said there is a need for Kaduna citizens to undergo counseling against violence, their conduct during and after the elections.
She stated this shortly before commencement of a walk tagged: “Endurance Trekk” to drum up support for Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commissiom, (KADSIECOM), at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Tuesday.
According to her, the road rally is to sensitize Kaduna populace to help them understand that election is not all about violence, as we can have a free and fair election.
“We intend to distribute handbills, flyers among others targeting the upcoming LG polls in the state.
“We are saying people should go out and vote, then return home to wait for the results and shshould not nvolve in viiolence,” she admonished.
The President of Babbar Mace Counseling Services, while giving history of her organization disclosed that it was founded three years ago, funded by herself and members of the board.
She however debunked the rumours that KADSIECOM is financing the road walk, and insisted that her organization has never received any financial assistance from any government, agencies or Non-Governmental Organizations.
