Speaking at the 4th Convocation ceremony of the Federal University Dutse, (FUD), at the weekend, President Buhari reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to upgrading infrastructural facilities of universities, and as well the culture of innovative thinking in solving local and national developmental initiatives.
The president also urged the private sector, among other citizens with wherewithal to invest in areas of research and development in our universities.
He said that the FG is receiving input’s on the need to support PPP initiativs in turning around our universities, “I am highly optimistic that this would become manifest in our universities,” he stressed.
Similarly the president charged authorities of the Nation’s universities to embarked on projects and programs that will make them more globally competitive.
To the graduates, he admonished them to be a beacon of hope set to bring impact in the larger society and radiating national pride at all times in any circumstances they may find themselves.
In her speech, the Federal University Dutse, Vice Chancellor, Professor Fatima Mukhtar, said following the rigorous conduct of Resource Verification Exercise by NUC, the FUD Dutse has commenced 36 new programs at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
558 students graduated in various fields of studies this year.
