TY Danjuma Foundation, ACCIF Donate Relief Materials To Kajuru IDPs

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The TY Danjuma Foundation and All Children Charity International Foundation, (ACCIF), on Tuesday donated relief materials to victims of the Kajuru attacks who are now IDPs at various camps in Maraban Kajuru and Sabon Tasha communities in Kaduna State.

Monitoring and Evaluation officer of TY Danjuma Foundation, Mr. Tersoo Akula, who led the project team to the camps said that beyond the provision of relief materials to the IDPs, the Foundations are also working with government agencies to reintegrate the IDPs back to their communities

Fielding questions from the media shortly after the distribution, Project Manager of ACCIF, Mr. Charles Irole said prior to the day of distribution, his team paid advocacy visits to two government agencies; Kaduna State Ministry of Health and Human Services, and Kaduna State Water Corporation to request for partnerships for medical check-up on the victims to determine their present state of health and for supply of portable clean water.

According to him, the Medical Director of the General Hospital Sabon Tasha, in Chikun Local Government Area, Dr. Gajere Emmanuel applauded ACCIF for the initiative, saying the hospital is ever ready to provide free surgical emergency and consultation to the patients.

Mr. Irole also said that the District Manager of the State Water Corporation made a commitment to provide portable clean water when the need arises at the camps to prevent outbreak of cholera disease.

TY Danjuma Foundation-ACCIF Team During Distribution Of Relief Materials To Kajuru IDPs.

Receiving the relief materials, Chairman of Adara Community in Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA), Mr. Mumini Madugu, thanked the TY Danjuma Foundation-ACCIF for the kind gestures.

He reiterated that the IDPs are eager to return to their ancestral homes, but do not have materials to rebuild their homes which has been damaged by the crises that rocked the area; and called on the government and the general public to assist them with building materials.

Some of the IDPs who spoke to Daily News Precise urged the state government to do its best to bring to an end the incessant attacks bedeviling their communities.

Items distributed to the IDPs include: Bags of Rice, Beans, 25 litres of red oil, 25 litres of groundnut oil, and packs of Sphagetti.

Others are: 5,000 litres of GP Tank, trucks of water and assorted medical drugs for the IDPs comfort.
