NURTW Decries Hike In Motor Spare Parts In Jigawa State

JIGAWA, North-West, Nigeria – The National Union of Road Transport Workers of Nigeria,

(NURTW), Jigawa State Council has decried the hike in prices of motor spare parts and its non-availability, calling on the state Governor, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar to come to the Union’s aid by making them available at a subsidized rate for the benefits of it members.

The Kazaure Branch Secretary of the Union, Malam Zubairu Kazaure made the plea on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in Dutse.

In a congratulatory message to Governor Abubakar for his second term reelection in office, NURTW rejoice with him, stressing that the success was based on his laudable achievements, and hope the good gesture will usher the state further success and development.

“Certainly your success was based on your numerous achievements in the last four years notably in areas of agriculture through the giant stride in modern farming technology under the Clusters Modern Farming Program, Health, Education, and Human Development Empowerment Initiative, among other government policies and programs.”

While expressing delight with the empowerment program initiative of the State Government, the Union commended the first disbursement by government of over a thousand fleets of hire purchase commercial buses to its teeming members, noting that this has made them self reliant, and hope the gesture will be a continuous one.

The Union however called on the governor to redeem his earlier pledge to release the second batch of the fleets; as it cautioned members to judiciously utilize the vehicles, and as well honor its prompt payments for sustenance of the valuable assets; urging them to guide against reckless driving, and vandalization of the vehicles.

On road networks, the Union commended the State Government for provision of solid access roads linking almost all the 27 Local Government Councils of the state.
