KADUNA, north-West, Nigeria – Contrary to general speculations, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, (PRP), in the 2019 general election in Kaduna state, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Umar, has described the poll as free and fair, hence, he has conceded defeat and congratulates the winner, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai for his reelection.
He stated this during a press conference in Kaduna on Monday.
According to him, reports from his agents across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state, indicated that there was no rigging nor intimidation of voters and party agents.
Alhaji Umar who boasted that he had over twenty-three thousands agents who are on his patrol across the state, said he patiently waited for their results before arriving at his decision.
“I hereby express my hearty appreciation to the good people of Kaduna state especially the members of our great party, PRP, for your support and prayers throughout the period of this important exercise.
“Let me break my silence and congratulate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna state for his reelection to rule the state for another term of four years.
Though I contested for the seat, I have no any grievances, rather I accept and concede the defeat in good faith.
“I also call on all other contestants to join the queue and accept the election out come in good faith so that together we move Kaduna state forward,” he said.
