16 Secondary Schools Battle For One Trophy In Destiny College Inter-Schools Athletics

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – Sixteen Secondary Schools in Kaduna will at the main bowl of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on Saturday, February 9, 2019, slug it out in the third edition of the Destiny College Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics meet.
The following track events will be completed for; 100, 200, 400 and 4/100 metres race for both boys and girls in the heat and finals.
The participating schools include; the host school Destiny College, Federal Government College, Dariq International School, Danbo International School, Future Leaders International School, Zaria Academy, Nigeria Tulip International School and Excel Modern Integrated School.
Others are; Saint Michael Anglican College, Standard Foundation School, Betty Queen International School, Divine Progress International School, Our Lady of Fatima School, Little Scholars and Uncle Bado Memorial School all in Kaduna.
The Inter-Secondary Schools athletics meet which is solely organized by Destiny College, (DC), is being supported by Edi-Jen Group Nigeria Limited, YAAMUH Travels and Tours Limited, Microvis Microfinance Bank Limited, Seven-Up Bottling Company, Dialogue Pharmacy Limited, Kathleen Heart Relief Foundation, and Al Maand Ramotime Frozen Foods, Kaduna.

Speaking at a media briefing on the level of preparation, Destiny College Director, Mr Akintunde Busayo said, he is committed to giving young ones an opportunity to discover their talents in sports order than just in academics.
He expressed optimism that Destiny College would continue to organized on a yearly basis the event while assuring that talents discovered during the competition will be recommended to the appropriate sporting authorities for necessary grooming.
At the end of the event, the overall best in the competition will go home with a trophy while other winners in all the events will also go home with medals.
“The best three Games Masters and best behaved school will also go home with gifts” he added.
Ahmadu Bello University, Kaduna Polytechnic, MA Athletics club, Flying Horse and Coach Felix Sports and Academic Foundation will also be on ground to add colour to the competition.
