KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – The Peoples Redemption Party, (PRP) Kaduna State Gubernatorial Candidate for the 2019 general elections, Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani, has vowed to retire Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and take over the mantle of leadership from him
He stated this at a reception for All Progressives Congress, (APC) decampees to the party at its State Secretariat, while receiving the party’s Logo in form of a key on Thursday, December 6, 2018.
According to him, the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House which is out of bound to the masses would be opened by PRP for accessibility to all citizens of the state.
“The Kaduna State Government House is fortified with massive security. It has an Armoured Personnel Carrier outside its gates, with detachment of security operatives and a fence with gates, with electric barbed wire just to protect the ordinary man from gaining access. We will use the PRP key to open the gates and make it accessible to all.
“This is beyond party affiliation, this is operation rescue Kaduna State, let us join hands and rescue the state,” he said.
He disclosed that he received a letter from 104 decampees of APC who said they were following him to PRP.
“These 104 decampees were not just ordinary members, but executive committee members with capacity to pull out 200 to 300 votes, adding that they are mainly from the Central senatorial zone of the state. We are still receiving letters from other intending decampees from the APC and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“Kaduna citizens have learnt their lessons, and so could no longer afford to be deceived by politicians who jumped from one political party to another.
“We will be fair to all the senatorial zones in the state. Our government will be fair to non indigenes, we will be fair to those who were treated unfairly through termination of appointments, by returning them and we would be fair to all.
“If we win, we will give kidnappers three months to repent and take up jobs, I will lead the security operatives into the forest to flush them out; and would not rest until all citizens are safe, farmers can go to farms without fear of being attacked.
“There is no political party or anyone that can threaten PRP in Kaduna state. Our government will give respect to all, irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliation, as there is no more APC or PDP, rather Kaduna is for PRP,” he boasted.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees from the APC government in Kaduna State, Director Campaign of PRP Kaduna Guber candidate, Bashir Yakubu, said that they left the ruling party because it is not people friendly.
“As I speak, a pregnant woman in Kaduna State who want to give birth at a government hospital will be requested to come along with things, including razor blades. With a PRP government, this will not happen.
”There is no single project worth N1 billion that has been started and completed by the present administration in the state. All the government quarters built by PRP government under Balarabe Musa have been sold out by the El-Rufai-led government, ” he said.
