NANS Canvas For Increase Funding Of Education

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – President of Northern Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN) Comrade Isah Abubakar, has advocated for adequate funding of higher education for development of the sector in Nigeria.
He made the call during the commemoration of Students International Day organized by National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS)held at the Institute of Water Resources, Kaduna.
According to him, no country in the world would developed without given priority to her educational sector.
Comrade Abubakar lamented the poor condition of higher institutions in the country were students study under difficult situation and it called for serious concern.
In his remarks, Senate President of NANS, Comrade Abdulmajeed Oyeniyi called for more Budgetary allocation to Nigeria Defence Academic, Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Aviation College Zaria for the interest of Nigerians.
He said proper funding would give opportunity to youth and also keep the country at an advantage over other Africa countries.
Comrade Oyeniyi also advised students to pay more attention to their studies and avoid any vices that may jeopardise their dreams of becoming future leaders.
The Chairman of Nigeria Journalists Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Kaduna State Council Comrade Adamu Yusuf, challenged NANS, and it leaders to champion the fight against corruption and to support the agitation by the labour leaders of thirty thousand minimum wage.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of certificate of credence to NDA Commandant, Kaduna State Chairman of NUJ, State Commissioner of Police and the Provost Federal Cooperative College Kaduna, Vice Chancellor KASU among others.
