1,000 NASFAT Members Brainstorms Over Insecurity

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – Over 1,000 members of Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) will converged in Kaduna state to brainstorm on insecurity in the nation during its 6th Biennial Women Conference tagged; “Kaduna 2018”.  

The National Women Affairs Secretary of the organization, Alhaja Samiat Mumuni disclosed this while addressing the media in Kaduna on Wednesday.

According to her, the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the Emir of Zazzau; Dr. Shehu Idris and other top notch of the society have confirmed their willingness to personally attend the event which is expected to be chaired by Professor Ango Abdullahi.

She added that the conference is designed to provide platform for women to rob minds, discuss issues affecting them, inspire them, empower the women with knowledge that allows them to stand out as role models and be able to stand the test of time.

Alhaja Mumuni further stated that the theme for this year’s conference; “Preparing Muslimah for the Challenges of our Time”, is apt based on the trendy issues in our contemporary society concerning insecurity, different forms of molestation, kidnapping, poverty, health, challenges, marital issues and unfair treatment unleashed on women. 

“We are expecting attendance of about 1,000 NASFAT women delegates from all walks of life spread across all regions in Nigeria, and locations in the West Coast of Africa, the United Kingdom and the USA.  We are also going to have representatives from other religious organizations and a few number of NGOS.
“NASFAT, is known not only for the spiritual needs of our members, but also for the physical, social and economic needs of our people, and of the immediate community where it is located and the society at large.

“NASFAT Women Management has several programmes aimed at impacting positively on women.  We engage in health programme where we regularly have general medical screening likes eyes screening, health talk, walk for fitness and others.

“We empower our women and youth on different vocational skills in order to be self-sufficient.  We have quite number of welfare programmes for our widows, the economically disadvantaged, orphans and the needy to mention a few“, she said.
