KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – Kaduna State guber aspirant under the platform of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP), Haruna Sa’eed, on Wednesday said that the Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s led administration has lost touch with electorate in the state, saying that the government has failed the people.
While frowning at the leadership style of El-Rufai’s government, he said: “You see leadership is about the personality and the people that come together with the leadership to create the change.
“In the first instance, nobody would aspire for a position that is not vacant, but because the citizens have shown their interest in replacing the current leadership, that is why I have accepted the call. Otherwise I would not need to contest if citizens were not asking for a new leadership.
According to Sa’eed, what is required of a government is to build confidence in the people and bring them back to appreciate the government and those in authority.
Speaking on his experience, the gubernatorial aspirant said: “I have been there for eleven years as Accountant General of the state. And as the chief accounting officer then, the entire state is not new to me, and the capacity of trying to deliver on what governance is all about has always been there and all we need is to bring it to the fore”.
