KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – An aspirant to the State House of Assembly representing Anguwan Sanusi Constituency, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Honourable Adamu Umar, has said he will support Gov Nasir El-Rufai in improving standard of education for the benefit of less privileged children and that of the poor.
He made the assertion during a press conference in Kaduna on Friday, August 17, 2018, where he also promised that healthcare insurance would be priority to his stewardship.
Umar said he would tow the line of the Governor as shown in his 2018 budget where 3 cardinal sectors; education, health and social development with education taking the chunk of N33.1bilion.
“It is a known fact, the Executive Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has earmarked N51.5 billion from its N216 billion in this 2018.
“As a member I shall channel my energy to seeing how the children of the poor amd less privilege are educated supporting the same standard our dear governor aspires and acting upon.”
The Son of a Second Republic federal lawmaker and nephew to Senator Ahmed Aruwa, said the people deserve comprehensive healthcare system that takes 95 per cent or 100 per cent financial burden.
“I will support project springing up of recreational centres, meaning our public schools premises ought to be protected. We should be able to different public schools and football pitches or play grounds,”
Speaking on his Action Plan, Umar who frowned at the menace of streets begging, said he would enhanced alternative to end the trade.
”Streets begging is a problem, no religion encouraged that, but if we look at it from positive angle then we can get it right”, he said.
He explained further that his motives are what an egalitarian society yearns for, adding that standard of living would be his watch word, equitable distribution of resources remains his drive.
Umar who stormed the Kaduna NUJ Secretariat with teaming supporters, stated that himself, and his team are very much aware that what endears a leader to his people are as simple as accessibility, empathy, show of love, concern and above all be efficient in discharge of one’s duties. He promised to remain open to the teaming electorate when elected.
